Fresh Breath Tips
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a non-foaming toothpaste such as Retardex, specially formulated to beat Bad Breath.
- Clean between the teeth every day with floss or Pro Flosser and/or an interdental brush or stick like Denti-Brush and Denti-Styx. This area is a great place for trapped food and bacteria to rot and cause Bad Breath.
- Gently cleanse the tongue with a tongue cleanser, such as the OOLITT eXcel, which is designed to reach the back of the mouth. 80% of Bad Breath comes from the surface of the tongue. The tongue cleanser should go as far back as you can comfortably go, as the tongue is a major influence on Bad Breath.
- Chew sugar-free gum in-between meals to increase the saliva flow, which helps to reduce the incidence of Bad Breath.
- Avoid over-indulging in spicy foods, garlic and onion.
- Reduce the consumption of coffee, tea and alcohol, all of which have a drying effect on the mouth.
- Use an alcohol-free rinse and oral spray, such as Retardex, designed to eliminate Bad Breath.
- Gargle with an antibacterial oral rinse, such as Retardex, to clean as far back down the throat as possible.
- Visit your Dentist and/or Hygienist regularly. Bad Breath can be an indicator that there is a problem with the gums, such as gingivitis or periodontitis.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep the mouth moist.
