Dry Mouth Tips

Additional tips to alleviate the symptoms of Dry Mouth:

  • Avoid alcohol
  • Avoid using mouthrinses containing alcohol
  • Avoid caffeinated beverages, including tea, coffee and some soft drinks
  • Avoid spicy or salty foods, as these can cause pain in a dry mouth
  • To aid swallowing food, sip water at mealtimes and add sauces wherever possible
  • Avoid dry food, such as crackers
  • Use a humidifier at night
  • Use a balm on cracked lips
